Become a member

EU-IPFF is welcomes applications from new members to join the fight against IPF/PF and related disorders.

As per our Statutes, there are two types of membership:

1) Full members

Full members represent national associations from European countries focusing on IPF/PF and allied disorders. They include the founding members and new members, which are accepted after a trial period of one year and ratification by the General Assembly by a three quarter majority of present or represented full members. They are subject to the provisions of the statutes and the rules of procedure. Full members, which are up-to-date with their membership fee, have the right to participate in meetings of the Association with full voting rights. All full members must share the objectives of EU-IPFF and be free from political, commercial or government ties.

2) Associate members

Organisations or individuals who subscribe to the objectives of the Association and are accepted by the Board. In the category “associate members” we distinguish between

  • Individuals: are allowed to be Associate Members only if they can demonstrate plans to establish an IPF/PF patient group in a European country in which there is no one yet. They can be invited to join internal EU-IPFF meetings, at their own cost, but do not have voting rights.

  • Partners: European associations of relevance (e.g. rare diseases, lung health, clinical etc.) and non-European groups focused on or with activities in the area of rare diseases, lung health or IPF/PF etc. They can be invited to EU-IPFF meetings, at their own cost, but do not have voting rights.

  • Supporters: Local or regional support groups for IPF/PF and other related diseases. They cannot join internal EU-IPFF meetings and do not have voting rights.

Annual General Assembly but have no voting rights; their rights and obligations are set out in the Rules of Procedure.

To apply for membership, please click here and complete the application form and provide the requested documents (latest annual report and accounts, statutes of your organisation). With your registration, your organisation agrees to contribute to the development of EU-IPFF, as well as to share expertise and experience with other EU-IPFF members.

All requests for membership are examined on a case-by-case basis. A committee will review the request and reserves the right to accept or reject the same.
